Scott Frank
Chief Research Officer
Scott cofounded Portfolio Catapult USA with Patrick Newell in 2019. As Catapult’s Chief Research Officer he is responsible for developing Investment Strategy, Market Research, Asset and Securities Research, and product / solution design. He has more than 20 years experience in investment research, fund analysis and wealth management, having worked in the USA and globally for companies such as Merrill Lynch, BRZ Investimentos in Sao Paulo and Luxembourg (Board of Directors), DeWitt Capital Management and headed Quantitative Research for a Multi-Family Family Office based in the Greater New York City area.
Scott has professional certifications in Alternative Investment Analysis and in Wealth Management. He is a graduate of Grand Valley State University and completed his Executive Management Program at the University of Chicago.
Piers Metcalfe
Chief Investment Officer
Piers has worked as a consultant to Portfolio Catapult USA since 2019, having worked previously with Scott from 2007. As Catapult’s Chief Investment Officer he is responsible for Investment Strategy, Asset Allocation and Investment Risk Management. He and Scott work together on Product Design and Testing. He has more than 25 years experience across Multiple Asset Classes, Traditional and Alternative Investments, Investment Research and Due Diligence, and Portfolio Construction. In this time he’s worked for Hawkstone, a large family office where he was Head of Investments for nearly 13 years, BRZ Investimentos in Luxembourg where he was a Board Member and at Stonehage Fleming.
Piers is a Law graduate and has a Masters in Finance from Heriot Watt University.
Patrick Newell
Chief Technology Officer
Patrick cofounded Portfolio Catapult USA with Scott in 2019, after collaborating on various Tech led projects since 2016. He’s Catapult’s Chief Technology Officer responsible for developing and coding the platform and for all aspects of Data Security and Systems. Prior to building a career in Tech, he worked for Credit Suisse for five years in New York where he was responsible for quantitative bond analysis and trading. His Tech career includes nine years as a developer at Rent The Runway, and several years in the Energy sector working on Technology driven start ups.
Patrick is a Computer Science graduate of Lehigh University.
George Bower
Chief Operating & Financial Officer
George is Catapult’s Chief Operating & Finance Officer responsible for Target Operating Model design and implementation, all Support Functions, Regulation and Compliance, and Financial Strategy & Funding. He has more than 25 years experience in Financial Services and Investment Management, having scaled up and run a Single Family Office with over US$1 billion invested and a direct portfolio of businesses with around US$500m of revenues. Prior to that he was Finance and Operations Director at Skipton Building Society where he worked in their Financial Services arm, and six years with KPMG where he worked with companies such as Aviva, AMP, NRMA, Colonial Funds Management, HSBC, and Merrill Lynch on Asset Management, Investment Management, and Banking Strategy and Transformation.
George has a Masters in Finance from the University of Liverpool and a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Strategy from the University of Oxford.
